Gregory R. Ryan is the principal of Ryan & Associates and specializes in real estate law. His practice is primarily focused on representing real estate owners, lenders, tenants and property managers. His clients include insurance companies, brokerages, investors and large institutions.
Mr. Ryan has developed a full service real estate law practice which provides transactional counseling and litigation to Ryan & Associates’ clients. Real property acquisitions, sales, lending and related matters are frequently handled from start to finish. A special focus is also given to environmental law matters which are increasingly becoming an important part of every real estate transaction. Lease negotiation and drafting from both the landlord and tenant perspectives constitutes a large part of Mr. Ryan’s practice.
Mr. Ryan also advises and organizes entities which develop, hold or operate real property, including joint ventures, limited partnerships, co-tenancies and limited liability companies. He is experienced in structuring complex capital and finance transactions necessary to launch a successful real estate venture, including syndications.
Real estate litigation and arbitration comprise a significant part of Mr. Ryan’s practice. He has handled many purchase disputes as well as landlord-tenant controversies.
Mr. Ryan also acts as outside general counsel to several organizations and companies, including a securities brokerage, several trade associations, a large regional real estate brokerage and two construction companies.
Admitted to the California Bar in 1981, Mr. Ryan is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Mr. Ryan also served as Vice President/Secretary of the W.M. Keck Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic charities on the west coast. He was also a member of the board of trustees of the Catholic Big Brothers of Los Angeles, St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation, and the Idyllwild School of Music and Arts.
Born in Modesto, California in 1956, Greg lives with his wife, Gretta in Pasadena, California.
